Born in Montreal, Canada, Peter Taussig studied furniture design under Donald Lloyd McKinley and Michael Fortune at Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario. Upon completion at Sheridan College, Peter went on to earn his BFA degree in Montreal at Concordia University and was then immediately hired by CAE Electronics, the world leader in flight simulators. There he designed the instructor interface for flight and power-plant simulators.

Wanting to pursue a Master’s degree in Industrial design, Peter enrolled at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. His area of study was reconfigurable modular wall systems to meet the requirements of ever changing family needs. Upon completing his Master’s degree in industrial design. Taussig, then moved to Switzerland where design plays such an integral part of every day life. Working with Daniel Korb of Korb and Korb, Peter designed office furniture, mostly desking systems for global industry leaders including Herman Miller, Haworth, Dyes, Kemen, Art Collection, and Hiller. Their products include Sense and iVolve for Herman Miller; POS, Optional and inTwo for Haworth; and system 24 for Hiller Moebel. Taking the knowledge from his master’s thesis, Peter was able to apply modular systems thinking to furniture. Korb and Taussig won numerous awards for their forward-thinking designs, including the 2009 Australian Industrial Design Award; Red Dot 2001, 2008; IF Hanover 2003, 2006; IF China 2003; and Good Design 2003.
